Overview
Talala is built with privacy at its core. Your personal data stays on your device. We do not store, sell, or share your health information in the cloud. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
Data stored on your device
Your fitness plans, workout history, health metrics, and preferences are stored locally on your device using secure, encrypted storage. This data never leaves your device except when explicitly required for plan generation.
Compute-only API calls
When generating or modifying your fitness plan, Talala sends a minimal set of anonymized parameters to our AI service. This data is processed in memory and immediately discarded — we do not retain any user data from these requests.
Apple Health integration
With your explicit permission, Talala reads and writes health data via Apple HealthKit. This includes workout data, heart rate, and activity metrics. All HealthKit data is processed on-device and governed by Apple's HealthKit privacy policies.
Bloodwork photo handling
If you scan a lab report, the image is processed entirely in memory to extract biomarker values. The photo itself is immediately discarded — zero image persistence. Only the extracted numerical values are stored locally on your device.
Analytics
We may use privacy-respecting analytics (such as Plausible or Fathom) to understand aggregate usage patterns. These tools do not use cookies, do not collect personally identifiable information, and comply with GDPR without requiring consent banners.
Third-party services
Talala may use third-party services for crash reporting and performance monitoring. These services receive only anonymized, non-identifiable data necessary for maintaining app stability.
Your rights
You can delete all your data at any time by uninstalling the app, as all data is stored locally. If you have questions or requests regarding your data, contact us at privacy@talala.app.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes through the app or website. Continued use of Talala after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
