How to do it

  1. 1

Stand with your feet hip-width apart and your arms by your sides.

  2. 2

Breathe in as you squat down, place your hands on the floor, and jump your feet back so your body is in a straight line.

  3. 3

Breathe out as you jump your feet back in toward your hands and stand or jump up with your arms overhead.

  4. 4

Land softly and go straight into the next one at a steady pace.

Where you should feel it: Your legs, chest and breathing.

What your coach says mid-set

  • “Hands down, jump your feet back”
  • “Body straight at the bottom”
  • “Land softly and go again”

Common mistakes

Hips sagging when your feet land back

Step your feet back one at a time instead of jumping, and slow the pace.
